Old Sights & Accesories

Hello,

Those who have a penchant for old sights and accessories might be interested in this London Small Arm (LSA) aperture sight and the base plate for a BSA No 8 sight I acquired recently . I believe the LSA sight dates from between the wars and would have been around at the same time as the No8. Interestingly, to adjust for windage, the eyepiece is rotated to the left or right which moves the peep hole accordingly. Informed opinion suggests that the No 8 base plate would not have been a standard fitting when the No 8 was fitted to a BSA air rifle.

The stem is short enough to make it suitable for fitting to an air rifle of the period.

Good find Brian.

A very interesting windage adjustment, and a method I certainly haven't seen before.

Kind regards,

Phil
