Re: Titan MK7 cocking lever
Is that an original barrel? All the Mark 7's I have seen and all those in adverts show the barrel flush with the cylinder end. If it is orignal then you have a unique variant there.

Re: Acvoke repair
Nice work and nice to have access to such kit. However, for those with limited tooling don't be put off having a go yourself. I made the same component from a piece of scrap steel plate with just a hacksaw, file and drill (and a lot of patience), and after case-hardening it has served its purpose we...

I hope it wasn't an auction and you were bidding against each other!

Re: The Hy-Score 800 the best of the old school blued pistol
I can only imagine that the short barrel was used to maximise muzzle velocity, and the barrel extension was there just for cosmetic purposes (it didn't help the cocking effort). The fact that the 700 was quickly displaced by the 800 suggests that the improved accuracy of the longer barrel was soon a...

Re: Gas Ram Pistols
The Gamo P900 IGT (the IGT stands for inert gas technology) is interesting as Gamo also make (made?) the P900 spring version,so if you had both types you could make a direct comparison between the two types of power system. A German friend has done just that, and these were his observations: The spr...

Re: A Newbie's dream pistol list to acquire
Another reason I would like to collect the Haenel 28 is that it was the only air pistol designed by Hugo Schmisser who was a German firearms designer of considerable note. He designed the STG 44, the first assault rifle. He was captured by the Russians and was taken to Russia. Many think he was the...

Re: New acquisition 1955 Walther LP53
Lovely acquisition. I like those early ones with the smooth finish. I always wondered why Walther introduced the black crackle finish - was it because the anodised smooth black didn't wear too well, or was it to cover up minor imperfections in the castings and so reduce the number of rejects?

Re: Does anyone recognize this air pistol?
Definitely an Acvoke - the rear-sight shape, the distinctive muzzle and the round-bar trigger guard are unmistakable. But where the name "Travis Dart Gun" comes from I have no idea.

Thanks Brian That would be much appreciated. I may already have some of them from any of your previous internet postings, but no doubt there will be some I do not have in my data base.

Re: .177 Warrior Pistol with Serial No. 6038
A very nice find, and thanks for the information. This has now been put into the data base that I keep for vintage British air pistols. It is interesting that reports of the highest serial numbers of various vintage guns seem to be much rarer than for low and mid-range serial numbers, and yet it is ...
