Re: New member
Well, my best advice is to stop right now.
Or you will end up like Phil and you will need to make a spreadsheet just so you know how many guns you actually own!

Re: Regards from Seattle, WA
I am right there with you. I don't shoot live quarry but I do a bit of pest control for a couple of farmers. Interesting factoid, the hole in a bell target is supposed to represent a mans head at 100 yards and should be drilled 3/8" and not the "nearly right" metric equivalent of 9.5mm. If I am reme...

Re: GMGuns Manchester
GMGuns were Manchester Airguns but moved from Failsworth after a massive rates hike by the Council, where they are now they also have a 25yard live firing range. I have it on good authority the name change was so people didn't think they did just airguns, they do everything including ammunition and ...

Webley Pistol, Engraved by Don Blocksidge
Now, before I start. I know. I know this is not to everyone's taste and that includes me to be honest, but Don Blocksidge has been a good friend to me over the years and always tells a good tale. He did a series of pistols for me, all Webley's, a Junior, Senior and Premier. This is the Premier and I...

Union Switch and Signal 1911
A very unusual and rare pistol. My Union Switch and Signal 1911 in .45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol). As many of you will be aware, the Colt 1911 pistol is probably John Moses Browning's finest hour. A design that has endured over one hundred years and used by countless Military and Police forces arou...

Re: Regards from Seattle, WA
Welcome JMI. Airguns eh! Here in the UK I think airguns have been traditionally viewed as a gateway to Firearms so many shooters started off with them. Fortunately, as you have discovered , there are many to choose from including the Feinwerkbau as you mention. There are three Feinwerkbau rifles as ...

HBSA Historical Breechloading and Small Arms
This is a great Club and one of which I am a member. Fortunately some of my work takes me to London so I work it around that I get to make the meetings when I can. Their Website is here: www.hbsa-uk.org and is full of useful and above all accurate information. It is worth joining the Association for...

Tameside Shooting Sports
So, another member on here has been posting about Tameside Pistol Club and Tameside Shooting Sports are just up the road from there so there is a bit of confusion going on. Tameside Shooting Sports is a Heritage site for Section 7.3 the study and evaluation of historic and rare firearms and is one o...

My Colt 1903
This is probably the first of the really successful, commercially that is, of John Moses Brownings Pistol designs. In this design you can see how the groundwork is now laid down for the greatest of Semi-Auto's of all time, the 1911. This is the Model 1903 Hammerless and the serial number would almos...

I don't know if anyone else on here has heard one of these go off, but Blimey! It is no surprise to me that the discovery of Black Powder was such a turning point in the history of arms.

Repairing a Marlin 1897 in .22
So, I came across this lovely unmolested Marlin 1897 in .22 rimfire, it is totally unspoilt and original. However, as is always the case there was a snag, no magazine cutoff. This is a small spring steel inset that controls the cartridge feed from the tubular magazine and stops the mag just dumping ...

Titan MK7 cocking lever
Here you go again, another vintage fix.
This time it is a mark seven Titan, missing the cocking lever. Made one from a bit of EN24 I had to hand:

Re: Acvoke repair
Interestingly, on the back of the cocking lever you can see a Pellet sizing hole. Bit ambitious to think of it as a swaging hole. The cocking lever (the original sample) and the actual examples I produced are clearly visible in the pictures above and here is my CNC Mill producing them: https://youtu...

Acvoke repair
Well, I hope someone finds this interesting, I did. It only took me six years to fix an Acvoke  I ended up with this pistol because it was missing a vital part and I didn't have one to copy, so I put it in a drawer waiting for the right time, some six years on:-) A great deal of water had pas...
