Re: Original 6M pistol

That's good to know. I couldn't really believe that Diana would turn out such a significant upgrade to the 6 and get the sights fundamentally wrong. Yet the explanation made a kind of sense.

The 6M is back on my Xmas list!

Re: Original 6M pistol

I have the "retro" plastic gripped Original 6 and I love it. I've often been tempted by the 6m but I read somewhere that there is a problem adjusting the sights. According the half-remembered blog post, the rear sight is the same as the plastic 6 and was intended to be used with the tunnel fore-sigh...

Re: Season 1 - Round 2

Thanks Phil.
Got my July scores in but way down on June. I swear the black bit is getting smaller.

Great practice, though - thanks for running this.

Re: Season 1 - Round 2

Any possibility of a late submission?

Just got back from holiday and hastily shot 2 cards with lousy results :-(

Could do with a day to chill and before shooting the others.

Scoring conundrum

What do you do if you fire 5 pellets but can only see 4 holes? This happened to me today. However closely I examine the card I couldn't see an enlarged hole that would indicate two impacts in close proximity. Either I missed the entire the card with one shot or two went through at exactly the same p...

Shot my first card today.

OK, so this is a bit harder than it looks. Scoring circles are significantly smaller than UBC 6yd target but the biggest problem for me was the low contrast (dark grey on cream). Quite difficult for my ageing eyes in my gloomy cellar. Off to Ikea this weekend for some cheap spotlights! Great quality...

Re: Weihrauch HW75

I'm watching Tanks refinishing thread with interest. I wish I'd read the rifle thread before I started on my Original 27! The "cracks" on the HW75 are open grain but it is far more pronounced at the top of the grip for some reason. I'm not sure what caused the scratches as I bought the gun used. The...

These are the grips on my '75. A combination of horizontal scratches and tiny vertical cracks :x

Not a major problem but I'd welcome any suggestions that might smarten them up a bit.

Re: Weihrauch HW75

Lovely looking '75 you have there, Ian. The grips on mine have a very "dried" appearance. Does anyone have any suggestions for a cosmetic treatment? I have some "lemon oil" that has worked wonders cleaning old guitar fretboards but I'm a bit reluctant to use it on the grips in case I wreck an otherw...

I doubt I'll be the first be I'll definitely participate.

Just got an MTM rifle front rest which is much more successful than the storage box plus jumbo car sponge I'd been messing about with.

I tried the Air 8 targets with a HW45 Silver Star .177. Five shots each onto four targets over 6 yards and scored 156/200. I'll try again later with my Gamo Compact. I think this is a perfectly feasible email comp, though the scores are likely to be higher than the real MPL If anyone else is interes...

I found downloadable Air 8 targets here: - http://www.tomgirling.co.uk/hobby/airgunning.php

I'm going to try these over 6 yards using the MPL rules where applicable.
